Our Work

01
Violence Against Women (VAW) Storytelling Project
The VAW Storytelling Project uses narrative-driven workshops to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and empower survivors. It provides a platform for women to share their experiences, fostering community dialogue and healing.
02
Girl Yogela
The Girl Yogela Program focuses on empowering girls aged 8-15 by educating them on menstrual health, hygiene, body safety, and defilement prevention. Through workshops, girls are taught about their bodies, menstrual cycle tracking, and how to protect themselves from defilement. The program provides reusable sanitary pads to ensure access to safe menstrual products, addressing both health and economic barriers. It also aims to reduce stigma around menstruation and sexual violence, fostering a supportive environment where girls feel empowered to speak out about abuse and know how to seek help. Community outreach and legal referrals are also key components of the program.

03
Widows Support Project
The Widows Support Project provides comprehensive assistance to elderly widows, addressing both their physical and emotional needs. Widows receive monthly sponsorship, including essential bed kits (beds, mattresses, bedding) and food packages, as well as water. The project also supports widows' health needs by providing assistance with medical care and facilitating weekly visits to help with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing and washing clothes. To combat loneliness and isolation, the project offers pastoral care twice a month, promoting mental and spiritual well-being. Through these efforts, the Widows Support Project aims to improve the quality of life for elderly widows, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and connected to their communities.
04
Advocacy Centre
Our Advocacy Centre serves as a multi-service hub providing legal, medical, psychological, and educational support to women and girls, particularly those affected by gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual abuse.
By offering legal consultations, medical care, and counseling services, the centre aims to empower women and girls to navigate their rights and access justice. The centre will also advocate for policy and legal reforms to better protect women and girls from violence and discrimination.

05
Maternal Health
In Uganda, pregnancy and childbirth can be risky for many women due to limited access to quality healthcare. Our Maternal Health Project works to make births safer by providing essential “Mama Kits” to women in their third trimester. Each kit contains the supplies needed for a clean and safe delivery. Alongside this, our trained midwife offers antenatal education, covering health, wellbeing, and childbirth preparation, empowering mothers with the knowledge and support they need for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.
06
HerHealth (Obulamu Bwe)
Our HerHealth (Obulamu Bwe) Workshops are a monthly series dedicated to empowering women in villages with knowledge about their health. Through interactive sessions, we cover important topics such as cervical cancer, heart health, menstruation, menopause, and more, equipping women to understand their bodies, make informed choices, and advocate for their own wellbeing.

07
Women's Health and Birthing Centre
Our Women’s Health and Birthing Centre will be a full-service medical facility dedicated to addressing women’s health needs. While we plan to break ground and begin construction in early 2026, we are already offering community-based services such as health testing and educational workshops. The centre will feature a holistic birthing unit that prioritizes each woman’s wishes and comfort, alongside comprehensive medical services including laboratory testing, ultrasound, and fully equipped theatres. By combining professional medical care with compassionate support, the centre will ensure women receive safe, personalized, and respectful care throughout their health journeys and childbirth experiences.
08
Skills Training
Our Skills Training Program provides practical education and income-generating opportunities for young women and mothers who are unable to continue formal schooling. In July, we launched a hairdressing school for teens and single mothers, where participants are learning hairdressing techniques, as well as specialized hair, nail, and makeup skills for weddings and events. In November, we will launch a mushroom farming program, teaching women how to grow, market, and sell mushrooms, empowering them to generate income for their families and contribute to a stronger, more developed community.

09
Dinah’sHouse
Dinah's House will offer a temporary refuge for girls aged 8-18 who are victims of defilement, providing shelter, trauma-informed counseling, and educational support. The project will help girls heal from trauma and continue their education while their legal cases are pending. Special attention will be given to family reintegration, ensuring a safe return home, while also raising awareness about defilement through community outreach. The project will work closely with law enforcement and legal professionals to ensure accountability for offenders and justice for survivors, helping girls rebuild their lives and break free from the cycle of violence.
